Drones broadcast identity and location information through Remote ID. A suitably placed FliteGrid sensor receives nearby broadcasts and sends them to SkySafe over built-in LTE.
Safer Skies & Community Benefits
Host a FliteGrid sensor to expand local drone awareness and support the network used by airports, public safety teams and infrastructure operators.
WHY HOSTS MATTER
Drones broadcast identity and location information through Remote ID. A suitably placed FliteGrid sensor receives nearby broadcasts and sends them to SkySafe over built-in LTE.
SkySafe says FliteGrid extends its network through community hosts. Your location, a clear sky view and reliable power provide a local collection point for drone activity.
The network helps airports, public safety teams and infrastructure operators understand what is flying nearby. More suitable host locations can expand visibility; the contribution of a particular sensor depends on placement, reception and uptime.
The last point about additional locations is an inference from the network’s design, not a measured security outcome for an individual home.

These customer accounts describe SkySafe’s broader enterprise platform. They illustrate how airspace intelligence can help security teams; they are not tests of individual residential FliteGrid sensors.
SkySafe reports that a leading aerospace customer reduced response time from approximately 20 minutes to 2–3 minutes while improving coordination and awareness around mission-critical infrastructure.

Its April 2026 account reports a change from multiple incidents per game to one across an entire season.

UNDERSTANDING THE TECHNOLOGY
FliteGrid receives Remote ID broadcasts. SkySafe’s broader detection platform also uses capabilities beyond Remote ID. A residential FliteGrid sensor does not stop or disable drones, detect every drone, or guarantee protection for a home or facility. Security teams decide how to respond to the information available.
